Black Pigeon

Breakdown: In 2003, designer Jeff Staple, of Staple Pigeon fame, stumbled into one of the most groundbreaking blips on the sneaker culture radar– the release of his Nike Pigeon Dunks. With only 150 pairs for sale, sneakerheads lined up for days leading up to the drop and caused a block riot in NYC on launch day. Almost 15 years later, Nike ushers in a new wave of sneaker culture in Nashville at ROOTED, cements Staple’s legacy with a relaunch of EXTRA BUTTER in New York City and releases a follow up to the acclaimed sneaker that became the basis of the hype today– the NIKE DUNK LOW BLACK PIGEON. Follow along as Staple recounts the OG and introduces us to his follow up.
